Kivu Beach Garden Guest House, located on the shores of Lake Kivu, has a long history as the first piece of land in the region occupied by Belgian settlers. On March 7, 1899, Dr. Richard Kandt, founder of Kigali, stayed in a house facing the beach, which later became a meeting place for explorers. This house was eventually transformed into Kivu Beach Garden Guest House.
Established in 2017, Kivu Beach Garden offers six comfortable, traditionally decorated rooms, some of which offer lake views. All rooms have private bathrooms. The property features a large garden with fruit trees, a shared lounge, and a terrace with panoramic lake views. The guesthouse is a budget-friendly option, ideal for families, backpackers, friends, and couples.
Kivu Beach Garden offers boat tours, guided tours, and cycling on request. Managed by JUPY, a Belgian-Rwandan, and his team, Kivu Beach Garden welcomes you to this peaceful and warm space.
